CT scan
Performed in Radiology and medical imaging.
What is it?
A CT scan uses X-rays to take detailed pictures of the inside of the body. It is used to look for the cause of a health problem or to check how a treatment is working.
What to expect
The scan takes about 10 to 20 minutes and is painless. Depending on the scan, you may need to fast for a few hours and remove metal items.
